About the Artist:
Jules Dalou (1838–1902) was a French sculptor known for his realistic and dynamic works. A key figure in 19th-century sculpture, he created numerous public monuments and allegorical pieces, often depicting labor and the working class with great sensitivity. His notable works include The Triumph of the Republic in Paris.
